The Christmas CD Contest is still a ways off, but I’ve (of course) already compiled my playlist. I think I’m going to have a FANTASTIC and RAD 75 minutes of music when it comes time to play the CD.

This year’s theme, contributed by my beautiful wife, is “Color.”

I leave it up to interpretive guesses, to determine the nature of my CD, and ultimately, its color.  As represented through pace, mood, tempo and sometimes lyrics. It’s pretty much a DEAD GIVEAWAY. The object, for me, is not to ponder over the color, but identify with it and ponder over choices, rather than trying to figure out what color I picked.

  1. Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding – Elton John
  2. Kyrie – Mr. Mister
  3. Roam – The B-52’s
  4. All Star – Smashmouth
  5. My Town – Buck-O-Nine
  6. Shining Star – Earth, Wind & Fire
  7. What a Fool Believes – Michael McDonald
  8. Rosana – Toto
  9. So Much to Say – Dave Matthews Band
  10. Little Lion Man – Mumford & Sons
  11. Dreams – The Cranberries

Make the playlist, listen to it, and FEEL THE COLOR.

Waiting Dues

Charged turning break
Doubtful melodies wane
A return to taste
Flagrant disdain
Folly in moods
Galvanized by fate
Ruined by change
Heartbroken and wandering sick
Wilting, pruned skin
Self forgotten
Lost in deep pain
Inducing blame
Following the dark road
Towards hatred

Chin yourself
Sorrow stinging tear-stricken eyes
Bend destiny towards progress
The worst enemy of mine
Shifting with small moves
In affirmative
Break the woe
With steps
